REEDES prize for Young Researchers

The Spanish Network of Development Studies (REEDES) announces the first REEDES prize for Young Researchers in order to promote and spread the research in Development Studies. The REEDES prize will be regulated by the following standards:

1. REEDES will award a first prize and an accesit. These awards will be chosen between all papers which were sent to the 1st International Congress of Development Studies.

2. The first prize is worth €700 and the accesit €300. Both papers will be recognized by a diploma issued by REEDES and they will be published in the Iberoamerican Journal of Development Studies.

3. The deadline will be the same that it was established to submit papers to the 1st International Congress of Development Studies (no later than the 31st of May 2012). It is necessary that the authors express their wish to participate in this prize.

4. The authors, who want to participate, have to fulfill the following rules:

a) They have to send the paper according to the standards of edition of the 1st International Congress of Development Studies.
b) Positive evaluation of the Scientific Committee of the 1st International Congress of Development Studies.
c) Registration of the author or authors in the 1st International Congress of Development Studies.

a) The coordinators of the panel sessions of the 1st International Congress of Development Studies will carry out the first evaluation and they will assign a mark (over 10 points).
b) One paper will be selected from each panel session. These papers will be evaluated by a jury formed by the Scientific Committee of the 1st International Congress of Development Studies. This jury will be chaired by the President of REEDES (or a delegated person), and the Secretary of REEDES will be the Secretary of the jury.

6. The jury may declare the corresponding prize not awarded if they consider that the candidate papers do not satisfy the necessary merits.
